The Inyo National Forest, the lead agency for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, began the public scoping process to gather input regarding the NEPA analysis for the ESCCRP. Both virtual and in-person events were held to educate the public on the Proposed Action.

Friends of the Inyo está ayudando al Instituto Whitebark de Ciencias Ambientales
Disciplinarias (en inglés, Whitebark Institute of Interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences) y al Servicio Nacional Forestal de EE.UU. (U.S. National Forest Service, o USFS por sus siglas en ingés) a divulgar información en español sobre un proyecto para prevenir los incendios forestales en el área de Mammoth Lakes y sus alrededores.

Backed by funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC), the two-year pre-planning phase for the project wraps up this fall. Spanning 56,000 acres of Inyo National Forest across six different watersheds, it is a project that included input from a wide range of partners, including federal, state, and local agencies, as well as local and regional businesses and nonprofits...

El 8 de julio a media tarde, mi barrio en West Bishop estaba ardiendo.
Desde el centro de la ciudad, donde está mi oficina, veía la densa humareda que los vientos fuertes soplaban hacia el norte. Me pude acercar nada más hasta el cruce de West Line Street y Reata Road, desde donde estaba cortado el acceso a mi calle, Watterson Road, ubicada a media milla hacia el sureste. Sólo permitían el paso a vehículos de rescate...
