Most importantly, this will involve providing leadership, inspiration, and support to our talented staff (currently 10 people) as they deliver on our mission. The Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day operations and growth of the Whitebark Institute. These operations include program development and implementation, relevant policy work at local, state and occasionally national levels, fundraising, administration and financial management, supervision of staff, and public relations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community wildfire protection and ecosystem restoration in the eastern Sierra Nevada. Whitebark Institute is hiring a seasonal Field Educator to develop and deliver engaging educational programs and materials for visitors and locals, as well as managing social media acounts to strategically promote content focused on topics such as fire prevention, forest ecology, fuels management, and the mission of Whitebark Institute. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of outdoor education principles and practices, with experience in organizing and implementing experiential learning activities and programs in natural settings.
